Forgiveness is important in a marriage.

Occasionally, marriages are tested, but last week mine was rocked to the core. I didn’t want to know, but I had to know. As I sat down, she explained what happened. She had just gotten out of the shower and was dripping wet when she saw him. He had his fire truck by our burn pile and for a while she just watched him from behind the curtain with nothing on but a towel. She was surprised at how young he was and he had all his gear on so she knew he was a firefighter. With tears in her eyes, she told me she slipped on her robe and slippers, poured 2 cups of coffee and went outside. Their eyes met as she walked towards him and then it happened… she slipped on the deck and twisted her ankle. I simply couldn’t believe what she said, anyone that lives in Oregon knows you can’t wear slippers on a wet deck. Her lack of common sense to wear the proper shoes had me questioning everything. For the life of me I can’t figure out what she was thinking about. I’m not heartless though, after buying her non slip slippers I told her I still love her and we will get through this.
