It’s true, we really do have 100 people every day moving to Portland. The reasoning is Portland has a strong economy, low mortgage rates and unemployment rates below the national average. One can’t forget our location is ideal for many fun adventurers, the coast, Mt. Hood and Central Oregon are all within a short 2 hour drive, we truly do have it all. Also, it could be our housing market. I predict a strong market for the end of 2018, we won’t see the 10% increases like 2017 but 4-6% is realistic. I know these are all good reasons to move here; but I have another theory. Maybe, you own a Honda and have always wanted a gun rack and in Oregon that’s considered to be an acceptable car accessory. Or, perhaps you really love down comforters and want to use them year around. Maybe, you just like to ride around naked on bikes. Fact is, in Oregon people just like to be naked! Did you know Oregon is very lenient on nudity? The most lenient places you’ll find are in the National Forests. Nudity is still banned in “developed recreation sites,” like campgrounds and day use areas; but according to the U.S. Forest Service, there’s absolutely no policy against hiking nude in the wilder parts of the forests. My thoughts on this: if you’re moving here for the naked aspects, I think deep in the forest away from everybody is an ideal place for you. Not that I’m opposed to people feeling the need to be naked; frequently, I’m naked myself almost every time I take a shower
