A few tips for these hot days.

When the weather heats up like this here are a few ideas to keep your home in the best possible condition for buyers regarding the heat aspect. Typically as a seller you are notified of when a Broker wants to show your home, Schedule showings when it’s relatively cool like between 9am and 1pm works well before things become unbearable. If that doesn’t work shoot for 7-8pm when the sun is still up but not too hot + you will get buyers to look at your home around dusk which typically is a great time to showcase your home. If you don’t have A/C in your home there are things you can do to try and make things cooler. Try keeping all the drapes/blinds closed until just before the showing and fans always go a long way. Contrary to a few videos I saw on YouTube, leaving the refrigerator open for hours really doesn’t work to make your home cooler. If you have a patio or deck prepare a nice pitcher of lemonade and put it on out there with a humorous note for potential buyers such as It’s so hot today chickens are laying hard boiled eggs or It’s so hot cows are giving evaporated milk. I also like it’s so hot the birds have to use potholders to pull worms out of the ground and one of my real favorites, it’s so hot Jehovah’s witnesses started telemarketing. The point is to give them something to remember your house and anytime you can send out good positive feelings that create lasting memories, the exact thing you want to happen to potential buyers looking at your home.
