April 25th was Take your Kid to Work Day so
I took my daughter Heather, my little princess who her mother says has me
wrapped around her finger. I constantly tell her she’s my favorite daughter and
she’s never questioned that (even though she’s my only daughter). Also I’ve
never said she was the brightest of my kids but she is my little girl. In
preparation for the big day I set her alarm for 6am. I heard it going off for
10 minutes before I went in to wake her. I learned that morning my little angel
knows a few words that little girls should never use. Finally, an hour later I
got her out of the house. (Note to self: next year start an hour earlier.)
Once at my office she played with some toys and then insisted on organizing my
desk, it’s been a week and I still can’t find my stapler. I left her alone for one
minute and she deleted four transactions on my
computer that I had worked on for weeks. After just 30 minutes at my office she
wanted to go to breakfast and have Bloody Mary’s. Heather, I love you but you’re
26 years old, I’m thinking this might be our last “Take your Kid to Work Day”.
