Last month Readers Digest ran an article on the power of humor and they stated that people with a good sense of humor are extremely attractive to those around them. I’ve always known this, but I’m conflicted on if it’s a blessing or a curse. It was a blessing when I was young and single, but now it’s more like a curse. Just yesterday at Fred Meyer I unknowingly turned on my charm and humor when I handed my keys to the checker and said when you’re done ringing everything up just run it out to my car. She chuckled and said she’d love to, but it was against company policy. Wow, message received! Quickly realizing I did it again, I frantically held up my ring finger and said I was married before things escalated to a point where I couldn’t stop her from falling madly in love with me. Later, at Plaid Pantry I cracked a short joke with the checker and she asked if there was anything else she could do to make my day amazing. Message received again! I’m seriously thinking when I’m in the public I just need to keep my mouth shut before I break anymore hearts.
