Home Inspections: Why you should never have one.

I could only think of one reason why you wouldn’t want a home inspection on what is commonly thought of as one of the largest purchases of your life.

It’s because you’re a Man. And not just a regular man, you’re the all-around, know everything guy.

There is not one Realtor that would ever suggest you waive the home inspection — we know how important the home inspection is.

No matter what your husband says, he is not a home inspector. And to be honest, he’s probably not qualified to do these inspections. I know he thinks he is because last year he replaced a sink and just last week he put up a new ceiling fan to replace the one that hasn’t worked in years. But that does not, I repeat, does not qualify him as a home inspector.

The problem is, as men, we think we know everything better than let’s say “the professionals” because the majority of the time we are always right. I know this is true because I am, in fact, one of those men. It’s at this point in the conversation you, as the woman, need to make a stand.

First you need him to focus on you, a suggestion might be to firmly grab his arm then give him that look, you know the look, it’s the one when you want something or perhaps he wants something, then when you have his attention gently slap him and remind him that the sink still leaks and that ceiling fan he installed wobbles worse than a 1-year-old trying to walk. Then grab his cell, dial 503-799-5854 and tell him to talk to Gravo Home Inspections, because word on the street is he’s the best in the business.

P.S. I sell 7-10 million dollars of  Real estate every year, I have had the pleasure of working with hundreds of Home Inspectors. I would say if you need an inspection this is the best inspector I’ve ever worked with.
