I’ve been asked by a few folks what it takes to be a great humorist writer. My best response is I’ll let you know when I figure it out. I think I have an advantage over most folks because I was born on what some consider the most awesome and highly celebrated of holidays, April 1st or as most know it April Fool’s Day. You might find this hard to believe but some couples try extremely hard in the first week of July just for the remote chance of having a child born on April 1st. Recently I saw on the Barnes and Nobles best sellers list a book by a famous fertility doctor explaining how to make this happen. His book even made it into the top 10 list for 9 months in a row in 2019!
It’s been tough living a life so gifted.
It almost brings a tear to my eye when I think about all those born on one of the other normal days of the year and the disadvantages they have had to live with. Fortunately, there is help for you and others that have lived through this nightmare. If you google “Help for those not born on April 1st” I found hundreds of support groups that aid those in need. For me I’ll admit it has been difficult. All through high school I could feel the stares and outright anger from kids born on “one of those other non-important days”. When I was dating, I never knew if the girls really liked me for me or if they were just trying to hit the lottery by marrying a guy gifted enough to be born on April 1st. In my adult life if I want to go out in public, I have to wear a disguise because random people will come up and want my signature and a photo. I have to change my phone number almost monthly because I’m getting constant invites to speak and appear at weddings, birthdays and more.
Can your DNA insure you a good life?
When a rumor came out that being born on April 1st could be in one’s genetics or DNA that’s when things got crazy. It was like I had just won a lottery & I woke up looking like Jason Momoa (that guy that played Aqua Man). I received over 300 emails and phone calls in the first week from old girl friends, famous actresses and just about anyone who wanted a child born on the first of April.
Truth or Fiction, how do you know?
I imagine at this point many of you are seriously wondering if this is real so I’m going to help you to make that determination with my 100% fool proof method of determining the validity of any story or article you see. If it’s highly argued, chastised on the media, Twitter bans you or Facebook fact checkers put a warning on it, chances are it’s true.
