I listened to Pete Buttigieg, the current United States Secretary of Transportation discussing how you can cut down on gas consumption to save money. I have heard this guy say some crazy things, but now I think Pete is a genius!
Want to save gas? Do not drive, while driving.
While discussing the gas crisis and the inflated costs to consumers Pete gave a few suggestions on how we can save money: Keep your car tuned up, check the air in the tires and then he gave us the golden advice! Pete said the best way to save money while driving, is to not drive at all. Pete’s other ideas included buying electric vehicles and any cars that get at least 40mpg on average.
I found the perfect car!
I knew it may not be perfect for the family, but as you can see from the photo, I did in fact find something that can tow a boat for all my vacation plans. Now if I can figure out how those clowns get eight people to come out of a car that is only made for two, then I can take my family on a vacation this summer. If anyone has a connection to the clown circuit or knows there inner most secrets on this amazing feat, I would love for you to contact me. I tried to get the information on this but no one from the White House bothered to return my call.
Time to make tough decisions.
Since I do have a family, and my wife and dog refuse to even consider riding in the boat, I am just going to have to alter my plans. The problem is I have a full-size pickup towing a 30ft travel trailer and on a good day I get about 5mpg. Looking at my gas budget this really limits where we can go. Since I live between Eagle Creek and Sandy, I figured the furthest we could go to stay in budget. I then determined there are several options, none sound ideal, but I am going on a vacation! My first choice would be Shorty’s Corner. I have never camped out there, but I am sure Tim would find me a place to park so we could camp out for 4 or 5 days. My second choice would be the Sandy transfer/recycling station because it is on State owned property, and it is big enough for me to park my truck and trailer on. Fortunately, it is run by Clackamas County, which is governed by Kate Brown, so staying there would have a few perks.
I love free stuff!
According to the Clackamas County web site homeless folks in temporary housing (That would be me in my trailer) get access to free meals, laundry facilities, showers, housing subsidies, cell phones and even clean needles if I wanted one. I am not an enthusiastic fan of the way things are going right now but as Kamala Harris said “Elections matter. And when folks vote, they order what they want — and in this case they got what they asked for.” Yes we did Kamala, yes we did.
